Design and construction of a new six storey, 400,000 sqft courthouse, consisting of 33 courtrooms, associated support space and prisoner holding facilities. The courthouse was to be a model for future consolidated courthouses in Ontario.
The security system incorporated a touchscreen control system to monitor and control all security sub-systems. All cells and circulation doors within the prisoner holding area were remotely controlled from the touchscreen control system. The security system provided for a fully integrated system, allowing for ease of monitoring and superior control capabilities. The security consisted of the following systems: Detention Door Control, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intercom, Audio Surveillance, and Duress Alarm. All security systems were integrated on the touchscreen control system.
